Meet the Founder
"I didn't start this to build a brand. I started it because I needed a sisterhood — and I knew I wasn't the only one."
Sydne Autry is a Bible teacher, retreat curator, and the founder of Woman Meets Word — a global Christian sisterhood dedicated to helping women grow in their relationship with Christ through biblical teaching, intentional community, prayer, and life-giving experiences.
What began as a small gathering of women hungry for God's Word has grown into a movement of over 368 sisters across the world — meeting weekly for live Bible studies, Monday morning prayer, and retreats that span from Atlanta to Zanzibar.
Sydne believes that every woman deserves a community that challenges her to go deeper in her faith, holds her accountable to who God is calling her to become, and celebrates her along the way.

How It Began
A Gathering That Became a Movement
Woman Meets Word started with a simple question: what would happen if women gathered not just to socialize, but to truly study the Word of God together?
That question became a weekly Bible study. The weekly Bible study became a community. The community became retreats. The retreats became a global sisterhood — women from Atlanta to Accra, London to Lagos, all rooted in the same Word and growing together.
Today, Woman Meets Word hosts retreats across the United States and internationally, a thriving Patreon membership community, and weekly gatherings that have become the anchor of thousands of women's weeks.
